The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, for allegedly threatening a resident with a locally made pistol in the Agbena area of Abeokuta.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, who noted that the arrest followed a distress call received from the victim on Saturday.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Friday around 6 p.m. when the complainant, a male resident of the area, was accosted on his way back from a football field.

“The complainant reported that he was returning from a football field when he was confronted by one Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, who threatened to deal with him if he refused to give him money,” the statement read.

Odutola added that the situation escalated when Kehinde’s alleged accomplices arrived on a motorcycle and physically assaulted the victim.

He managed to escape the scene and fled to his residence.

“Shockingly, the same suspect, Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, later traced the complainant to his family house, armed with a locally made pistol, and continued issuing threats to shoot him,” Odutola said.

Acting on the report, police operatives promptly moved to the location and arrested the suspect. The locally made firearm used in the threat was also recovered from him.

The spokesperson confirmed that preliminary investigations have commenced, and further updates will be provided to the public as the case progresses.
