Arrangement is under way by the Federal Government to begin the distribution of N75,000 to 180,000 beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Economic Shocks Respond Initiative in Niger State.

The State Program Manager of the Niger State Cash Transfer Program, Suleiman Hussaini Kpange, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Minna.

Hussaini Kpange explained that the initiative is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to cushion the effects of economic shocks on vulnerable households by providing direct financial assistance to beneficiaries, helping them cope with economic challenges caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.

Sulaiman hinted that over 50,000 beneficiaries have already received their debit cards across the 25 local councils of Niger State this year.

Kpange added, “The latest batch of debit card distribution will see over 19,000 cards distributed across the state.

He however expressed appreciation for the Federal Government’s initiative as well as the Niger State Government for supporting the logistics needs of the office.

According to him, beneficiaries will include individuals from the existing National Social Register and those who applied through the RRR earlier, adding that a national identity card is the requirement for issuing a debit card to the beneficiaries.

Some beneficiaries, including Bahago Gideon Musa and Hadiza Bawa, expressed satisfaction with the process leading to the collection of their debit cards.
