Shettima condemns Konduga bombing, vows swift response

Vice President Kashim Shettima has condemned Friday night’s suicide bombing at a local eatery in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, describing the deadly attack as a cowardly and despicable act of terrorism against innocent Nigerians.

Reacting to the incident on Saturday, Shettima extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and the people of Borno State, assuring that the Federal Government would respond swiftly and decisively.

“Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence,” the Vice President said. “The government stands with them in this moment of grief and will provide all necessary support to aid their recovery.”

He directed relevant agencies to immediately investigate the incident, ensure medical attention for the injured, and coordinate relief efforts for affected communities.

Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, said the attack was a painful reminder of the lingering threat of terrorism in the region, but reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to stamping out insecurity in all its forms.

“The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly committed to restoring lasting peace and security in the Northeast and across the country,” he stated. “We will not allow enemies of peace to undermine the progress we have made in degrading their capabilities.”

He added that the government would not rest until those behind the attack are identified and brought to justice, vowing that such acts of terror would not go unpunished.
