Saheed Oladele Highlights Political Journey, Sets Agenda Ahead of 2027 Elections
Educationist and Governorship aspirant, Saheed Oladele, has recounted the milestones that shaped his evolving political trajectory, declaring that the 2027 general elections in Oyo State will mark a significant turning point in the politics of the State.

Speaking at a get-together with supporters and friends in Ibadan, 44 years old Oladele said his journey into active politics began in 2023 during his Umurah pilgrimage in Mecca, when a caller urged him to pray specifically to become the next Governor of Oyo State.

He explained that the message resonated more deeply two years later when a prominent political actor in the state advised him to step forward and take up leadership responsibility as a representative of the youth.

According to him, one of the defining moments in his rising public profile was his recognition in 2025 with the chieftaincy title of Baameko of Ibadanland by the late Oba Lekan Balogun, a development that placed him firmly in the spotlight.

Oladele also narrated how he gained access to prominent national figures, including Seyi Tinubu, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Folasade Tinubu, describing these encounters as opportunities that came “on a silver platter.”
He added that he has since consulted widely with elders within the party and across Oyo State.
He revealed that the emerging theme for the 2027 elections is “O to ge l’Oyo,” indicating that political engagement in the state “will not be business as usual.”
With party primaries approaching, Oladele announced that he will embark on a tour of the 33 local government areas of Oyo State within the next two weeks, during which he will meet apex leaders of his party in each LGA.
He also appealed to citizens to remain patient with Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the president is pursuing his long-held vision for the country and is committed to addressing national challenges.
