
Ogunwale Resigns As Asiwaju of Iragbiji Town
The Palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland has formally acknowledged and accepted the resignation of Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale from his position as Asiwaju Ilu Iragbiji.

Iragbiji is a town in Osun State, Nigeria, and serves as the headquarters of the Boripe Local Government Area. Located in the Yoruba region, it is approximately 60 kilometers east of Osogbo, the state capital, and is situated near Ikirun. It is a town surrounded by rocky hills and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage.
In a letter addressed to the Palace, Senator Ogunwale communicated his decision to step down from the revered honourary title, which had earlier been conferred on him by HRM Oba Timothy Adepoju Oyelade the predecessor of the current Aragbiji of Iragbijiland about three decades ago.
The resignation letter, dated March 3, 2026, was addressed to Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, where the Senator excused himself from further holding the position of Asiwaju of Iragbijiland.
Following the receipt of the letter, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, graciously accepted the resignation.
The monarch expressed appreciation to Senator Ogunwale for his service, support, and contributions to the growth and development of Iragbijiland during the period he held the position.
A Palace source, said the Monarch remains focused on strengthening traditional leadership and promoting initiatives that will further enhance the growth, harmony, and prosperity of the Iragbiji community.
