Obidient Movement in Ebonyi reaffirms loyalty to LP, Obi
The Obidient Movement in Ebonyi State has dismissed claims of a takeover of its structures, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to the Labour Party and its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Mr. Peter Obi.
In a joint statement issued on Monday, two prominent figures of the movement—Comrade Splendour Oko Eze, Labour Party’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State, and Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, a former National Assembly candidate—described the reports as “false, misleading, and politically motivated.”
The statement was published in response to reports allegedly circulated by political agents claiming that the movement’s structures in Ebonyi had been hijacked.
“These claims are being pushed by individuals associated with the fractured and unstable PDP in the state, who are known for politics of acrimony and noise-making,” the Obidient leaders stated.
They emphasised that the real supporters of the Obidient Movement in Ebonyi remain solidly behind the Labour Party and are not swayed by what they called “desperate propaganda.”

“The core supporters of Mr. Peter Obi are well-known and remain unperturbed by these distractions. Our focus remains the collective vision of building a new Nigeria anchored on integrity, transparency, and people-first governance,” the statement read.
The Obidient Movement also used the opportunity to thank its supporters across the state and the country for their continued loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the Labour Party.
The movement emerged as a major political force in the 2023 general elections, rallying support for Mr. Obi and LP candidates nationwide, particularly among young and first-time voters.
