Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde has commenced disbursement of a total sum of 325 million naira as compensation to not less than 227 affected property owners in Iwo Road, Ibadan.
This gesture according to Makinde follows the construction of two bus terminals at Iwo Road which affected different properties belonging to private owners.
Oyo News reports that the distribution of cheques was made by the Commissioner for Public Works, Professor Dahud Sangodoyin.
The Commissioner, while presenting cheques to the affected property owners at the ministry of Works today described the gesture as a promise made and promise kept by Governor Makinde.
The 227 beneficiaries are mainly those whose properties are not subjects of litigation or associated with any pending legal case in the court of law.
