Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Wednesday said he has approved the payment of 2014 corrected CONMESS and payment of COVID-19 hazard allowance.

The governor, who disclosed this via his verified  Twitter account said he visited Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso to discuss the challenges facing the hospital.


Makinde also gave approval for increased subvention to cover payment of minimum wage, payment of 2016 and 2017 arrears as well as payment of the salaries of 177 members of staff who were recalled.

He assured that these payments will be made by the end of August.

Makinde also said a team will be set up to screen the 46 staff members who were disengaged from Monday, August 17, adding that “if the screening is successful, they will be reinstated.”

The governor further approved the implementation of a pilot study for semi-autonomy for selected secondary healthcare facilities and implementation of residency training and placement of doctors who have completed their residency training from 2021.

Makinde reiterated that although most of these issues were inherited from the previous administration, his government is committed to resolving them while at the same time, ensuring that the good people of Oyo State reap all the benefits of good governance.
