A House of Assembly candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Olakunle Akinsete, has insisted that he will be participating in the March 11 election, in spite of the consultations with his contemporaries.

Akinsete, who is seeking to represent Ibadan South West Constituency II at the Oyo Assembly stated this in Ibadan while speaking with Oyo News today.

Giving a background of the rumours making rounds that he may have stepped down, Akinsete said that the ongoing consultations have not yielded any fruitful results.

“Let me use this medium to inform my constituents and general public that I am still in the race”, Akinsete said.

“While it is understandable that there has been alot of consultations, dialogues and negotiations already ongoing as at the time of this report. I can categorically inform you that nothing is agreed upon as I insisted on defending the trust of those who nominated me to represent our people in the election”, he said.

Akinsete added that, “I strongly believe and trust my capacity to deliver and offer a better representation for all of us. It is in this regard that I am confident of our success at the polls and advice us to guard our PVCs very well”.
