Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has unveiled a major infrastructure initiative: the Bauchi roads project. Announced on Wednesday, this N18 billion endeavor will involve the construction of 38 kilometers of rural roads in Kirfi Local Government Area. The project aims to connect the communities of Bara, Hashidu, Tubule, Garin Malam Julde, and Wanka.

Governor Bala Mohammed highlighted the significance of the Bauchi roads project, emphasizing its role in improving economic opportunities and access to essential services. The construction and rehabilitation works are a key component of his administration’s strategy to enhance rural infrastructure. The contracts have been awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited, with N11.9 billion allocated for the Bara-Wanka road and N6.3 billion for the Alkaleri-Kirfi road. This brings the total project cost to N17.7 billion. Notably, the Bauchi State government has already provided 30 percent of the cost as a mobilization payment.
