Atiku’s Son, Abba, Defects to APC, Backs Tinubu’s Re-election
Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of Nigeria’s former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abba Atiku officially joined the ruling party to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He was received on Thursday evening in Abuja by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, alongside the APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Alhaji Mustafa Salihu.
As part of his political realignment, Abba Atiku announced the renaming of the political group he founded. The organisation, formerly known as the Atiku Haske Organisation, has now been rebranded as the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.
The group was originally established in 2022 to support political mobilisation efforts. Its renaming signals Abba Atiku’s commitment to the APC and his intention to actively support President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
The defection is seen as a significant political development, given Abba Atiku’s family background and the broader implications for political alignments ahead of future elections.
