An agricultural economist, Otunba Tunji Oredipe, has declared his ambition to contest the Ogun State 2027 governorship on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC).
Oredipe, who is also a systems architect from Ogun East Senatorial District, pledged to ensure visibility for every community, economic value for the grassroots and make accountability the thrust of his administration if given the opportunity to lead the state.
He made his declaration yesterday during a well – attended at the Eagle Square Atan, the Headquarters of Ijebu Northeast Local Government Area of the state where he also unveiled the Otunba Tunji Oredipe (OTO) Campaign Strategy Document and the Campaign Organization Structure.
His declaration brings the number of the APC governorship aspirants to 10 – comprising two from Ogun East, four from Ogun Central, and 6 others from Ogun West.
Oredipe whose career path traversed many global institutions, including the world bank, said that the office of the Governor is not a meat to be shared, apparently referring to the unwritten rotation arrangement, adding that it is meant for the “best hand” to handle.
He urged the APC stakeholders and the good people of Ogun State not to miss this “best opportunity” to make him the flag bearer of the party in 2027.
Also speaking, the APC leaders in Ijebu North East, including the elected local government Chairman, Hon. Folusho Badejo, who took turns to address the gathering comprising party members, supporters, artisan, and women groups, backed Oredipe’s expressed intention to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun
