The President, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, met members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, an assembly of the 36 State Governors, at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Although Tinubu met with governors of his party last Friday, Wednesday’s meeting is his first with all State Governors across various parties.

According to the Vice-Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Seyi Makinde, the discussions centred on fuel subsidy removal, security and cooperation at the national and sub national levels.

During his inaugural speech, the president made it clear that he would constantly consult stakeholders with regards to key decisions that affect the country.

While he has appointed Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff and Akume as his SGF, Nigerians are still waiting for the president to name his full cabinet, knowing that the task on ground is enormous, even as the people await to fully enjoy the dividends of the nation’s democracy.

The meeting which began at 12:36pm had all governors in attendance except those of Kaduna, Katsina, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ekiti, Sokoto, Ondo, Borno, Yobe, Gombe, and Katsina states.

However, the governors of Edo and Niger states are represented by their deputies.

Vice President Kashim Shettima is also attending the meeting. OYO NEWS
