The DSS arraigned Haruna in a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, marking a continuation of legal actions against individuals accused of supplying arms linked to terrorism in Plateau and neighboring states. Justice Emeka Nwite presided over the proceedings. Haruna was remanded in DSS custody and granted access to his legal representatives.
The arraignment coincided with the DSS presenting other suspects in separate charges connected to unlawful possession of firearms and alleged terrorism activities in Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Katsina states. These cases include individuals accused of buying and selling locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, concealing information about planned attacks, and transporting ammunition and firearms without licenses.
Trials for related cases have been scheduled for October, with Justice Nwite setting different dates for defendants, reflecting the ongoing efforts by the DSS to prosecute individuals linked to arms trafficking and terrorist activities in central Nigeria.
