Highly industrious Sports Administrator and the only Nigerian serving in the Commonwealth Weightlifting committee, Dr. Steve Olarinoye has added yet another feather to his fast growing cap as a global sports personality. 

The humble and respected  expert in sports management has been nominated by the Weightlifting Federation of Nigeria to monitor and observe Commonwealth lifters  from 52 countries that will feature in all the categories when the games begins on the the 28th of July 2022 at the the Birmingham sports center in the United Kingdom.

Dr Olarinoye, who had served in various capacities as Manager of athletes at the Olympics, Commonwealth games,All African Games to mention a few will bring his vast experience to bear as an astute administrator whose pedigree gave him accolades amongst his peers at the international level.

In a letter signed by the federation and made available to Sportspro News publisher, Dr Olarinoye’s appointment was based on merit and his track records over the years.

Reacting to the development, Dr. Olarinoye who hails from Omupo in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State described the appointment as worthy and encouraging as he promised to be a good ambassador of the Country.

Meanwhile, Olarinoye’s son, Dr. Deji , a medical Doctor and a product of University of Ilorin bagged a similar appointment as the Head of anti-Doping in Coventry centre of the Commonwealth Games.
