Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has presented car gifts to thirteen teachers in the state.
The Governor made the presentation today during the Year 2020 Teachers Merit Award, adding that it is a mark of his administration’s determination to reinforce teaching as a noble profession.
“I celebrate our remarkable teachers who leave no stone unturned in moulding lives, building character and preparing our students for a productive future”, he said.
He said his administration is aware of the essential roles teachers play in nation building, adding that the State Governmnent will prioritize investing in education.
“We are cognizant of the essential role that teachers play in building a formidable society and we are committed to rewarding exceptional teachers regularly”.
“We will continue to prioritise investment in education by improving the capacity, competence and welfare of our teachers, making the education sector more ICT-compliant, exposing our teachers to international best practices as well as ensuring that our schools are conducive for teaching and learning with quality and modern infrastructure”.
