The future of boxing appears to belong to Ibadan-born Super Featherweight champion, Ridwan Oyekola.

The World Boxing Federation (WBF) champion, on Sunday defeated Thailand’s Manat Sopatip in Japan through a Technical Knockout.

In the international boxing challenge bout, Scorpion won in round one, through a Technical Knockout at the City Gym, Tomigusuku, Okinawa in Japan, to improve his record to (11-1-1-6KOs).

The brilliant, operatic bout saw Sopatip suffer knockdowns by Oyekola.

Basking in his post-victory glory in front of fans at City Gym, Tomigusuku, Okinawa in Japan, Ridwan made sure to praise his opponent.

Scorpion described the win as another monumental feat, dedicating it to God.

Describing his win as a good start in the new year, Fight Gist Media wrote, “Nigerian Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola destroys Thailand’s Manat Sopatip, in round one, via Technical Knockout at the City Gym, Tomigusuku, Okinawa in Japan, to improve record to (11-1-1-6KOs)”.
