Member House Of Representatives representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun on Thursday, presented his Certificate of Return to Governor Seyi Makinde at his Ikolaba residence.
OYO NEWS reported that Adigun was reelected as the federal Lawmaker representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal constituency in the Green chamber of 10th National Assembly.
The election held on Saturday, 25th February 2023, was declared inconclusive due to some irregularities.
The supplementary election was held on Saturday in the constituency.
Adigun, a PDP candidate, popularly known as Agboworin, won the election with 28,111 votes to defeat Dapo Lam-Adesina of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 27, 338 votes.
Benjamin Olley, the INEC returning officer, announced Agboworin as the winner, noting that the candidate satisfied the requirements of the law to win the election.
During his visit, Governor Seyi Makinde congratulated Hon. Abass Adigun on a well deserved victory in the last National Assembly election, saying “your re-election is a victory for the good people of Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency and Oyo PDP”.
The federal lawmaker lauded the commitment, dedication, zeal and passion demonstrated by the constituents to achieve the success he recorded at the poll during the general and the Supplementary election.
Hon. Abass Adigun commmended his teeming supporters and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North-East LG and Ibadan South-East LG.
Hon. Abass said “this victory belongs to God and the good people of Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, for the trust and confidence they reposed in me to represent them at the Green chamber of the National Assembly once again”.
