Akinsuyi Samuel was shot on the leg by a yet-to-be-identified stop and search Police officer, on his way from Eruwa to Ibadan on Friday.

According to the Students Union President of the institution, Musa Anuoluwapo Opeyemi, the union has begun a peaceful struggle to seek justice for Akinsuyi.

He said one of the union’s demands is that the officer who shot “the innocent student must be arrested and dismissed from the Police force”.

The Union also demanded a total stop to the unlawful harassment of students on the Ibadan-Eruwa way by officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also demanded that Samuel’s life must be safeguarded and his hospital bills paid by the Nigeria Police Force.

The victim has been transferred to a government owned hospital for intensive treatment.
