OYSIEC on Saturday has shifted election into the vacant Chairmanship and Councilorship seats at Ido Local Government till Sunday, May 23 2021.
This, the Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Aare Isiaka Olagunju said was due to the omission of Zenith Labour Party, (ZLP) on the ballot papers.
OYSIEC appealed for calm and understanding of the stakeholders and voters in the LGA where election was re-scheduled.
The safety of the voters, election officials and other stakeholders, the Chairman reiterated was paramount to the Commission in conducting elections.
Olagunju identified ZLP as one of the parties presenting candidates, therefore the Commission would not disenfranchise its candidates.
He likewise appealed to the concerned party for the inconveniences, adding that the Commission is committed to free, fair and credible local government election.
