Oyo state government has disclosed that the over 100,000 Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccines received from the federal government were currently subjected to sterility test before administering to residents.
The Commissioner for health, Dr. Bashir Bello who disclosed this in a press conference noted that the decision was part of resolutions reached at the executive council meeting presided by Governor Seyi Makinde
The commissioner for health explained that in view of global concerns, adequate arrangement were being made to ensure adequate precautions on the vaccination procedur.
Also, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye disclosed that the state government has approved the upgrade of the Emmanual Alayande college of education Oyo, to a university of education to contribute in producing competence educators and teachers with requisite pedagogical skills.
The Commissioner for Public works and transport, Prof. Daud Sangodoyin explained that the executive council equally approved the construction of 65 metres flyover bridge from Akobo-Ojurin to Odogbo axis with an estimated sum of 1.058 billion naira.
While noting that the duration for completion of the project would be 6 months, the commissioner for public works and transport added that the project would be funded through the alternative project funding approach.
