Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde yesterday pleaded with the Federal Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Raji Fashola to direct the transfer Ojoo-Moniya old road to the state.

Speaking after meeting Mr. Raji Fashola in Abuja, the governor said the aim of seeking the transfer of the roads to Oyo state was to integrate them into the proposed new business district.

“We used the opportunity to follow up on our request that the federal government should transfer the Ojoo-Moniya Old Road to Oyo State to be integrated into our proposed new business district in Ibadan”.

The Governor also hinted that the Federal Government needs to supervise the commencement of work on Oyo-Iseyin Road project.

He said, though it is a federal road, the project is being reconstructed by his administration and the contractor has been mobilised to site.

He explained that easy access to the state will impact positively on the economic potentials of the state.
