The Oyo State Police Command on Monday, handed out awards for commendable conducts to the three police officers, who assisted a stranded commuter on Iseyin-Ibadan road.
The Officers, whose acts of kindness became viral on social media, assisted a Nigerian who had a flat tyre on Iseyin-Ibadan highway.
According to a source, he flagged many motorists for help because his jack got spoiled in the process of trying to change the tyre but none of them stopped, understandably.
“He has already resigned to fate until three officers, Tunmise, Daudu and Michael, from Dugbe Police Command, came along”, a witness said.
“The officers went out of their way to replace the spare tyre. When they were done, he begged them to take ₦3,000 as a token of appreciation but they rejected his plea. Their response was; “we didn’t stopped to assist you because of that, we are only doing our jobs”, a witness said.
To this end the policemen were honoured by the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Ayinde Hamzat.
The officers were given commendation letters by the Commissioner at Eleyele, Ibadan, who added that their professional conduct was indeed commendable.
