Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has said the State Government signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Ibadan to train police officers and other security agencies in the state.

Speaking during the inauguration of a 11-man judicial panel of inquiry, Governor Makinde said the training will enhance the knowledge of police officers in criminal justice and human right enforcement.

He said this will eliminate incidents of police brutality unlawful killings, extortion and violation of human rights amongst others.

Makinde said this is a step further in bridging the gap between security agencies and members of the public.
