A 2 day Orientation Programme has been organized by the Ministry of Justice to usher in newly appointed state counsel into the Ministry on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th of January, 2021 at the conference room, Mediation center, Ministry of Justice, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo SAN, who joined the programme virtually welcomed the newly appointed state counsel into the ministry.
In his keynote address, the Attorney General urged them to always prepare to pay the price to win the prize.
Speaking further, he noted that it is the measure of their efforts that will produce the desired value for them which is the prize.
The prize according to the the Attorney General has eternal value that will live beyond them even after civil service, which doesn’t come cheap.
He admonished each of them to have an intimate relationship with God, an uncompromising integrity and unwavering commitment to a cause that has impact on
humanity.
He also encouraged them to be dedicated to their duties and prepare to be the best everyday.
Oyewo stressed that they bear a lot of responsibilities and oath of confidentiality on activities of the Government.
He told them to be state counsels at all times, by acting in the interest of the ministry and the Government.
Prof. Oyewo concluded his keynote address by asking them to develop themselves in their specific areas of competence.
The Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Adetunji Wasiu Gbadegesin while welcoming the state counsels stressed the overview, prospects and activities of the ministry.
