Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government Council, Oyo State, Mr. Saheed Arowosaye Adeyemi, has charged youths to shun vices that could threaten the peace of the Local government.

The Chairman also called on the youths to view security as business of all regardless of political affiliation.

Arowosaye, who gave the charge today during a stakeholders’ meeting with Youths in the Local Government, urged them to always embrace peace.

According to the council boss, youths are critical stakeholders, adding that his administration will continue to engage them, as they have crucial role to play in the development of the local government.

He said, “the future of Oyo State is in the hands of the youths, we believe. Therefore, I enjoined them to be constructive in their agitations and promised to support the youths at all times”.

In a statement exclusively made available to oyonews.com.ng, the Local Government boss said, “today, in continuation of our Peace and Security meeting, we had an interaction with youths on ways to ensure security in our local government”.

Arowosaye said the pursuit of peace in Oyo East and LGAs in Oyo State shows high level of Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to the development of the state.

He therefore called on residents of Oyo East Local Government to reciprocate the love Governor Makinde has shown to his people.

The meeting had in attendance stakeholders including Security Chiefs, Elders and youths from the Local government.
