The Chairman, Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Adeyemi Arowosaye, on Tuesday, February 21, ended a one week “Thank you” tour of the Local Government.
Arowosaye who was accompanied on the tour by the Vice-Chairman, Secretary, all political appointees and executives of the Oyo East chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Hon. Shakiru Ojo rounded off the tour at the Ward 5, Apinni.
It would be recalled that on February 3 2022 the Chairman embarked on a tour of all wards in the local government area.
The Tour, according to Arowosaye was an opportunity to thank residents of the Local Government and party loyalists for their support and intimate them on the Local Govemment’s ongoing and past policies.
In his remarks, the Chairman thanked the people for their support for his administration since inception and used the event to give an account of his leadership since he assumed office.
Recounting his achievements in the health sector, Arowosaye said there’s an ongoing construction of health centres in all 10 wards of the local government and assured that they will be equipped and made fully functional to address the health needs of the people. 
He said his administration has empowered a lot of people by providing different items and grants to enable them to start up their businesses.
He said more recently, in conjunction with the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde that several youths from the local government were trained in agribusiness in Nasarawa state and will continue to prioritise empowerment schemes for the people as it is a panacea to the economic development of the local government.
Speaking further, Arowosaye said the education sector especially primary education has received a huge boost under his administration by the renovation of classroom blocks and donation of learning materials to school children.
He said the administration has a target of increasing school enrollment in the local government and has so far made commendable progress that will be sustained.
On roads, he explained that there are ongoing efforts of the administration to make rural roads across the local government motorable to stimulate economic activities by putting in some palliative measures. 
“Today, alongside the Executive members of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and all political appointees in the Oyo East Local Government Area’s Administration, we ended our “Thank You Tour” of wards across the local government area, with Ward 5, Apinni”.
He noted that the people of Oyo East Local Governmet have been supportive to the present administration in the State and Local Government levels, adding that the supports are not taken for granted.
“The good people of Oyo East Local Government Area have been supportive of our Administration and party, and we do not take this support for granted. We used the opportunity to interact with the people on some of the policies and achievements of our Administration and sought their input”.
“This sort of constant communication and engagements are crucial components of democracy and we are mindful of the important role of the people”, he continued.
Arowosaye lauded the transformation going on in the state by the Makinde-led administration.
The Local Government Chairman added that during the tour, residents were sensitised on the need to register in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise to participate in next year’s general election.
“We assured that we will ensure that we put in place everything necessary to make the registration exercise stress-free”, he said.
“We are grateful for the warm reception that we were accorded in the whole 10 wards across Oyo East local government”.
