The Ag. Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal on Monday inaugurated the State Immunization Task Force Committee.
Speaking at the Emergency Operation Center, Yemetu, Ibadan, Lawal said the Committee will give inter-sectoral groups the chance to assist the State Government’s ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing the number of unimmunized children.
He added that the Committee will provide preventative health care to rural dwellers.
Barr. Lawal, during the inauguration emphasized the government’s policy of having one operational PHC facility in each ward of every local government in the state.
He also disclosed that the present administration in the state led by Governor Sey Makinde’s resolve to rank health care delivery as number one, and as such the budgetary allocation to this sector is substantial.
“Out of the 351 Primary health care centres in the state over 210 has been renovated”, he said.
