Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested three individuals in connection with the death of a commercial sex worker at a brothel in Akure, the state capital.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the incident occurred over the weekend in a popular brothel located in the Cathedral area of Akure.
The deceased reportedly complained of tiredness during a sexual encounter with a customer, who became enraged when she was unable to continue.

The situation escalated into a heated argument involving the brothel manager, the sex worker, and the customer. The customer demanded a refund of the ₦15,000 he had paid for the services.

Ayanlade said, “The customer fled the premises but returned shortly with a group of associates intent on forcibly retrieving the money. A patrol team was dispatched promptly and found the suspects attempting to recover the money by force while the victim’s condition worsened.”
The victim was rushed to a health facility but sadly died on arrival. Her body has been taken to the State Specialist Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The police arrested three suspects at the scene and are currently searching for two others believed to be involved.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough and discreet investigation,” the PPRO stated.
