The Olasole of Lasole Kingdom, HRM Oba Jacob Dairo Olutayo has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde, on his new chieftaincy title, “Jagunmolu of Ondo Kingdom”.


Jagunmolu means someone who has fought and overcome. Ondo Kingdom is a town in Ondo state, Nigeria.

OYO NEWS reports that the Olasole was the immediate past Executive Secretary, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB. He was appointed as the Executive Secretary, OYOSUBEB, on September 5, 2023.


In a statement, on Sunday, the monarch commended the Governor Makinde for the recognition and honour conferred on him by the Ondo Kingdom led by the Osemawe and Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo.

Oba Dairo said the eminent personalities across the country and the crowd that witnessed the chieftaincy title bestowed on Governor Makinde was a testimony of his good works in Oyo State and contribution to national development.

The Olasole of LASOLE kingdom also appreciated Governor Makinde for the opportunity to serve the state, as a senior civil servant.

He equally appreciated the former Chairman, OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, who he described as a mentor, and board members of the agency, for their unmatched contributions to basic education in Oyo State.

The Olasole said Dr. Adeniran, who was the Board’s chairman, supported him during his years as the Director, Schools services at the Board.

Oba Olutayo also appreciated the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Joel Adeniyi and Directors in the Board for supporting him, while leading at the board.

“I want to congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde for this new chieftaincy title in Ondo kingdom. It is a testimony to your giant strides in Oyo State. I urge your excellency not to relent in your good deeds,” Dairo said.

“This also testifies to the fact that people appreciate what you have done and are still doing for the country. This new title should further reinvigorate you to do more for posterity.

“On behalf of my good people of Lasole kingdom, congratulations!”
