The Labour Party, LP in the Oke-Ogun zone of Oyo State, on Friday collapsed its entire structure to back the re-election bid of Governor Seyi Makinde.
A statement in Ibadan, obtained by Oyo News indicated that the delegation led by Mr. Jamiu Suliaman Eniola, Chairman, Labour Party, Iseyin Local Government was received by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal.
The statement signed by Omolere Omoetan further asserted that the move is a boost to Governor Seyi Makinde’s Re-election bid.
The Deputy Governor, represented by Debo Adejumo, Chairman, Oyo State Tourism Board welcomed the decision of the Labour Party Chairmen, while stressing that the reelection of governor Seyi Makinde will bring more prosperity to the region.
He conveyed Barr. Bayo Lawal’s commendation of their decision, stressing that it reflects the wishes of true sons and daughters of Oke Ogun.
Speaking earlier, Mr. Eniola noted that they have chosen to collapse the Labour Party structure in the entire Oke Ogun to back Makinde’s reelection bid because of his giant strides in infrastructure development in the region.
“We have met with our Members, and we have their support across all the local government areas in Oke Ogun, our decision to support Seyi Makinde is unanimous,” Tiamiu noted.
Meanwhile, Mr. Samuel Adejumobi, Special Adviser to governor Seyi Makinde on Parliamentary Matters who facilitated the meeting, had earlier commended the Labour Party Chairmen for what he termed as ‘Patriotic decision’ to back the governor’s reelection.
He stressed that Engr. Seyi Makinde is the only governor who has taken the interest of Oke Ogun region at heart.
Present at the meeting were Labour Party Chairmen from Iseyin local government, Jamiu Suliaman Eniola; Atisbo Local Government, Aleshiloye Ibraheem; Iwajowa Local Government, Babalola Nafiu.
Others present from Oke-Ogun were, Oguntegbe Isaac, Kajola local government; Balogun Azeez, Oorelope local government, and Ademoye Dada, Saki East Local government.
