The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the March 18 gubernatorial election in the State, inconclusive.
PDP’s Chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele, stated this on Monday, at a press conference held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, OYO NEWS reports.
He said the party wanted INEC to declare the guber election results inconclusive because of illegal votes.
The Party had kicked against the declaration of Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of last Saturday’s guber election, alleging disruption and snatching of ballot boxes by political thugs.
According to Ogundele, about 35,000 votes and areas where ballot boxes were snatched and burnt during the guber poll were enough for the electoral body to declare the election in the State inconclusive.
INEC had announced Dapo Abiodun, the incumbent Governor as the winner of the 2023 Gubernatorial race in Ogun State.
