On Air Personality, Titus Badejo, was on Saturday, June 19, shot dead by unknown Gunmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Oyonews.com.ng gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred a week after his 40th birthday. Popularly known as Eja nla, Titus was killed outside a club at Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, at about 11:30 pm.
Eja Nla, who had been at the club from about 9pm, was leaving with some friends, when two masked men riding on a motorcycle suddenly stopped, wielding guns and asking all of them to lie down.
Thereafter, they reportedly aimed at Eja Nla, shooting him repeatedly before leaving, after ensuring that he was dead, without taking anything from him or his friends.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council has called on authorities concerned in the State to fish out the killers of Titus.
The Union made the demand in a statement by its Chairman, Demola Babalola, stating that the death of a member of the union is one too many for the union to comprehend.
“We mourn the untimely passing and gruesome murder of a journalist whose sad killing took place on Saturday at a Club in Oluyole area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital. A very distinguished OAP, DJ and Sports presenter, Badejo’s killing is one death too many for us in Oyo NUJ to comprehend. The spate of senseless killings & avoidable deaths is worrisome and calls for concern of all discerning members of the public”, the statement read in part.
“We use this opportunity to once again, call on the authorities; the Governor, CP and others to fish out killers of deceased journalist and others mowed down in their primes in recent times”, it concluded.
