The Nigerian Union of Journalists, State Ministry of Information Chapel, NUJIC has felicitated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on his re-election during the governorship election conducted on March 18, 2023.
In a statement by the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Ismail FASASI, and made available to Oyo News by the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Olamide ADENIJI, urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory by extending hands of love and friendship to his competitors in the race so that peace would continue to reign in the state.
He described Makinde’s re-election as well-deserved and a “result of his track record in the last four years in office.”.
I on behalf of entire members is delighted that the election was largely peaceful, indicating that the people are making impressive strides in our democratic journey.
“I also commend the people for exercising their civic responsibility in a peaceful and orderly manner.
“I also urged all the members of NUJIC to continue to project and promote the achievements and activities of the government in the state
“I wish Governor Makinde to use the opportunity of his re-election to continue to increase the tempo of development in all the nooks and crannies of the state.”
“I pray for God’s guidance and protection throughout his tenure as governor of the state.
