A Director at the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Dr. Yusuf Lawal; the spokesperson of the Department of State Services, DSS, Dr. Peter Afunanya; and sixty four other course participants have been conferred with Fellowship of the National Institute for Security Studies, NISS.

The First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari presented awards of the ‘Well-Behaved Participant’ and the ‘Best Project’ to Dr. Yusuf Lawal at NISS

This followed a completion of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 14, 2021 class, in Abuja, which also had the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, NCFRMI, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim among the graduands.

The First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari presented awards of the ‘Well-Behaved Participant’ and the ‘Best Project’ to Dr. Lawal.

A senior operative of the DSS, Mr. Akeem Olawunmi Kareem bagged the ‘Best Student’ of the EIMC 2021.

Organisations and institutions whose staff were among the 66 graduands include the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions, EFCC, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF, and Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The rest are the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA; JAMB, DSS, NCFRMI, together with  Ghanaians and Gambian nationals, among others.

Nigeria’s former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, had on Thursday, delivered the ‘Graduation Lecture’.

The Institute was conceived to bridge the gap in the chain of strategic institutions established to produce knowledgeable security intelligence and paramilitary practitioners with pedigree comparable to what obtains in other countries.

The EIMC Course is also designed to equip the participants drawn from strategic government institutions and agencies with the requisite skills in further handling their positions and implementing national security policies.
