In a bid to foster international understanding and strengthen economic development strategies, Fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) have arrived in India, on a highly anticipated International Policy trip.

Policy trip

During the Trip, Fellows will explore India’s democratic governance structure, understanding its evolution and key principles. They will engage with policymakers, officials and scholars to gain firsthand insights into India’s governance models.

Additionally, the trip will foster cultural understanding through interactions with local communities, institutions, and businesses, establishing networks for potential collaborations between Nigeria and India.

In order to properly understand the Indian Technology Landscape, they will have Fireside Chats with Indian Business Leaders and Tech Leaders at the Indian Technology Institute (ITI), with discussions on the intersection of Innovation, leadership, governance and economic development.

The LJLA Executive Secretary, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade stated that the policy trip will be a transformative experience for the Fellows, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain insights from India’s economic and governance models.

“The International Policy trip marks a significant milestone in the Academy’s mission to cultivate visionary leaders equipped with global perspectives and innovative solutions”, she added.

This trip aligns with the #Greater Lagos Agenda of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in creating an enabling environment for future leaders in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole, through initiatives such as LJLA, which is in line with the Youths/Inclusion pillar in the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda, the strategic roadmap for his administration
