LASCOHET Matriculates 768 Students at 26th Matric Ceremony
The Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET) has held its 26th Matriculation Ceremony, officially inducting 768 newly admitted students into various schools across the institution.
Welcoming the matriculating students, the Provost, Professor Raheem Olasupo Akewushola congratulated them for earning a place in the first College of Health Technology in Nigeria. He noted that their admission was a significant achievement, considering the competitive nature of the entrance examination and the high number of applicants.
Professor Akewushola encouraged the students to embrace the journey ahead with determination and a renewed mindset. He emphasised that the path to success and greatness is demanding, especially in the healthcare sector, where diligence, caution, and conscientiousness are required in handling human lives.
He further urged the students to remain focused, resilient, and disciplined in their academic pursuits, warning that the college maintains a zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice, and any student found culpable will face appropriate sanctions.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Adeniran Kasali charged the students to be exemplary ambassadors of the college. He highlighted LASCOHET’s reputation as one of the most sought-after health institutions in Nigeria due to its academic excellence, quality of teaching, and the calibre of graduates it produces.
Mr. Kasali encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunities available to them in Lagos State, a megacity that is safe, secure, functional, and productive. He advised them to adhere strictly to all instructions and guidance given as they work toward becoming credible healthcare professionals.
In his closing remarks, Professor Akewushola wished them success in their academic journey and enjoined them to remain resilient, uphold good character, as well as shun all forms of immoral behaviour.
