The family of the late Dr. Vwaere Diaso has laid her to rest, one week after she died in an elevator accident at the General Hospital, Odan in Lagos Island.

Vwaere, who was two weeks to completing her housemanship at the General Hospital, had her life cut short after she took an elevator that has been faulty in the hospital for a year.

She took the elevator from the 10th floor and was on her way to the ground floor to pick up an item from a dispatch rider when the elevator crashed. She sustained serious injuries that eventually claimed her life.

This was made known in a series of posts by her sister simply identified as Ese, on her Twitter handle on Tuesday.

In a post shared on Twitter, her sister, Ese, revealed that she was laid to rest today, August 8. In a tribute shared on her handle, Ese said the pain her family and herself are going through is indescribable.

She wrote, “Today my sister was buried. The pain my family and I are going through is indescribable. To so many people, Vwaere is just another sad story of how the Nigerian government has and continues to fail its people but she’s more than that. She was a daughter, granddaughter,sister, girlfriend , friend, niece, our dockie who worked tirelessly helping people.

“We want her to be remembered as the beautiful, hardworking, loving, selfless, caring and intelligent woman she was. Vwaere even though you are no longer physically here with us, you will live on in our hearts. Thank you for all the amazing memories. We will cherish them forever.

“We would like to thank and appreciate every single person that attended her funeral today. Thank you for all the support and well wishes in this difficult time. Vwaere is resting now.”
