The management of Kwara State Polytechnic has distanced itself from the two female suspects, Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies, who were recently paraded by the Police in Abuja for their alleged involvement in the murder of a club owner at a hotel in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Female suspects

In a statement titled ‘Re: How we killed club owner in hotel – Female Student,’ the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, stated that the accused individuals are not affiliated with the polytechnic in any way.

Garba further emphasized that the students of Kwara State Polytechnic are regarded as exemplary ambassadors of the institution, the state, and Nigeria as a whole, and would never engage in such criminal activities.

The statement read: ‘The attention of the Polytechnic Authority has been drawn to a discrediting story by Daily Trust Newspaper tagged “How we killed Club Owner in Hotel Room -Female Student” and a video clip which has gone viral on social media with the title “Confession of Kwarapoly Students who killed man during Escapade”

The Management wishes to disclaim this discrediting and malicious news about the institution, stating that the suspects being paraded in Abuja by the force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi are not students of Kwara State Polytechnic.

The Polytechnic Management wishes to state categorically that its students are good ambassadors of the Polytechnic, the state and Nigeria at large and will never indulge in such acts.

Thus, the female suspects claim is untrue, baseless and figment of their imagination with the intention of dragging the name of the ever peaceful institution to the mud.

Therefore, all stakeholders of the Polytechnic and members of the press are advised to always verify anything tagged with the Polytechnic before circulating.
