The Senior Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRazaq on Community Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said the fertilizers will be distributed to deserving farmers in the State.

Olohungbebe added that the community-based approach, which was recommended by the participants of the just-concluded Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) Summit, would be adopted to ensure the fertilizers get to the deserving farmers.

Commending the governor for carefully reviewing the feedback from the summit and implementing some of the recommendations, Dr Olohungbebe said the community-based approach was approved by Governor AbdulRazaq.

“Governor AbdulRazaq should also be commended for carefully reviewing the feedback in the Summit report and approving the implementation of some of the recommendations made by the participants,” he added.

Ensuring effective distribution of the assorted fertilizers at the grassroots, the state government has constituted committees across the 16 local government areas.

The committees include all the Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs), Community Development Officers (CDOs), representatives of community leaders, CBOs, Community Development Councils (CDCs), civil societies, People Living With Disabilities (PLWD), Jamaatul Nasiru Islam (JNI), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), among other stakeholders.

The federal government fertilizers are distributed across the states of the federation to address the issue of food crisis in the country.

Recall that the Kwara State government has also distributed fertilizers, rice and other consumable items to the people of the State in supporting the FG to combat the effect of subsidy removal.
