Kano governor dismisses two aides over misconduct

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has ordered the immediate dismissal of two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) following damning findings from investigative committees probing separate cases of misconduct.

Abubakar Umar Sharada, SSA on Political Mobilisation, was removed over his involvement in securing bail for suspected drug baron Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu. A government investigation into former Commissioner for Transportation, Namadi Dala, had linked Sharada and another political aide, Musa Ado Tsamiya, to the case.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Farouk Ibrahim, described Sharada as the mastermind of the bail process. He has been cautioned to desist from parading himself as a public officer under the current administration.

Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, was cleared of all allegations by the committee, which affirmed his innocence.
The primary culprit, former Transport Commissioner Namadi Dala, resigned after being indicted for voluntarily facilitating the bail application for the drug suspect.

In a separate case, the governor also terminated the appointment of Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, SSA in the Cabinet Office, over alleged diversion and repackaging of palliative grains in 2024.
