Imole Free surgical and Medical Outreach, has begun in Osun State, in line with the campaign promises of Governor Ademola Adeleke, to expand quality health coverage to residents.
According to the Imole Outreach media team, the program, which is the second edition will hold in two centres of each of the three senatorial districts of Osun State.
He added that the imole Outreach will cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal among the vulnerable people of the state.
Each edition of the Imole Surgical and Medical Outreach will benefit over two thousand five hundred persons in each centre of the three senatorial districts every week where the exercise will be taking place for two days.
The imole Outreach, which will be coordinated by the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, will be held in state hospitals in Ilesa, Ila-Orangun, Ile-Ife, Iwo, Ede and Osogbo on the chosen dates.
Surgeries covered by the free medical outreach include Cataracts, Pterigium, Hernia, Hydrocele, Lipoma, Keloids and some swollen body parts.
Medical conditions like Hypertension, Diabetes, Malaria, Cough, Tuberculosis and other diseases will also be treated by a team of medical practitioners assembled by the state government to make the programme a huge success.
The Governor will flag off the imole medical outreach on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in Ilesha while other constituencies will follow immediately.
The schedule across the senatorial districts are as follows:
1. Ilesha (flag off and care) – August 16 & 17
2. Ila Orangun – August 23 & 24
3. Iwo – August 30 & 31
4. Ile Ife – September 6 & 7
5. Ede – September 13 & 14
6. Osogbo – September 20 & 21.
