Remo Stars have forfeited three points and three goals following the assault on match referee, Ndubuisi Ukah during their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 12 encounter against Gombe United last weekend.
OYO NEWS reports that the Sky Blue team was also penalised by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for disrupting the match.
The encounter at the Club’s Stadium was abandoned at half-time after the match officials refused to come out of the dressing room citing assault from the home fans as a reason for their action.
The game which ended in a 0-0 draw was concluded on Monday morning.
The IMC also sanctioned Remo Stars for their failure to provide adequate security for the match officials.
The club will pay a fine of ₦1.25m while their general manager has been suspended from all NPFL activities.
The fine is expected to be paid within seven working days.
Remo Stars is expected to accept the ruling of the IMC or elect to appear before a Disciplinary Panel.
