The Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Honourable Seun Fakorede has charged Corps members to imbibe diligence and excellence in their day to day endeavours.

Fakorede gave the charge while addressing the 2019 batch ‘C’ (stream 11) Corps members at the Passing out Ceremony to mark the completion of their service year and disengagement from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme.


The Commissioner, who doubles as the Chairman of the NYSC Oyo State Governing board enjoined the corps members to maximise all the opportunities presented to them as young graduate Youths in the country.

In a goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Youth and Sports development, Kazeem Bolarinwa, advised the disengaging Corps members to avail themselves of the various Youth development programmes of the various arms of government. He encouraged the Corps members to add value to themselves as it will help project them as valuable members of the society.

In her remark, the Oyo State NYSC Coordinator Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe congratulated the Corps members on their disengagement from the NYSC Scheme. She urged them to utilise the various skills they acquired during their participation in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme as white collar jobs are no longer forth coming.

The low key Ceremony witnessed the distribution of Certificate of National Service to over 2116 deserving Corps members in the various local government areas in compliance with the Covid-19 protocols. In this Batch, the service of five Corps members were extended and three Corps members penciled down for remobilization.
