An House of Representatives aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Lanre Sarumi, has met with the party Exco in Ibadan North Local Government.
Hon. Lanre Sarumi, who is aspiring to represent Ibadan North Federal Constituency, yesterday met with the local government executive of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to intimate them on his aspiration and seek their support.
He told the excos that his intention to represent his constituency at the federal House of Representatives, is to improve representation and right the wrongs.
Sarumi also maintained that constituents in Ibadan North federal constituency have been shortchanged in terms of dividends of democracy at the national level due to bad representation.
In his words, “I am here to officially have this conversation with the Excecutive of our party and to plead for your support. I assure you of my loyalty and good intentions for our Constituency. ”
He further assured the Exco of an all inclusive representation for the development of the local government and Constituency.
He was warmly received by party executives of Ibadan North local government.
The chairman of PDP in Ibadan North Local Government, Prince Adelore Adeseun who led the other executives to the meeting appreciated the aspirant and promised a level playing ground for all aspirants.
He also thanked Hon. Lanre Sarumi for his contribution towards the growth of the party and the people of Ibadan North.
Adelore further encouraged the aspirant to ensure he maintains his “omoluabo” ethos, by ensuring effective representation when he attains his aim.
In his words, “We believe you have taken a cue from our leader, Governor Seyi Makinde. This is evident in your passion for the masses and all you have been doing for the people of this Constituency.
“Your good deeds to alleviate poverty among our people will speak for you”, he said.
“We are very proud of you and we will make sure there is a level playing ground for all aspirants from this Constituency”.
