Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, on Friday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, lost 0-1 to relegation threatened Heartland FC of Owerri.

Going into the Matchday 31 fixture with three consecutive victories, the Oluyole Warriors had their good run halted as they were undone by a 24th minute goal, off a free kick by Divine Ukadike.

The game had started on a cautious note, with both sides trying to get the better of each other.

Clear cut chances were scarce ,until the Oluyole Warriors committed a foul near the danger zone and the homers made use of the resultant set piece to score the only goal of the match.

The Ibadan soccer lords lifted their game in the second half, fighting hard to find the leveller which however, failed to come until the end of the encounter.

Despite the slim loss, the Oluyole Warriors remain fifth on the log with 49 points from 31 matches, pending the outcome of the tie between Plateau United and Remo Stars in Jos.

The team will next be involved in a South West derby as they will play host to rivals, Sunshine Stars in a Matchday 32 fixture.
