
Gov. Abiodun Flies From Gateway Int’l Airport to Abuja
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday flew from the Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Ilishan, to Abuja aboard a ValueJet flight, further demonstrating the full operational readiness of the world-class facility.
The Governor described the experience as a proud moment for the state, noting that the airport continues to stand as a catalyst for commerce, connectivity, and industrial development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the momentum of infrastructural growth and positioning Ogun as a modern, globally competitive state.
He wrote:
“Yesterday, we made history in Ogun State as we witnessed the maiden commercial flight at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Ilishan — a fulfillment of our vision to position our state as Nigeria’s new hub for commerce, industry, and connectivity.”
“The ValueJet aircraft, piloted under the leadership of Mr. Kunle Soname, departed with 90 passengers to Abuja, marking the official commencement of flight operations from our soil. This milestone stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to infrastructural excellence, economic expansion, and the prosperity of our people. Together, we are truly building the future of Ogun State with faith, purpose, and pride.”
