The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Mahood Balogun, Okunmade II has elevated a former Head of Service in Oyo State, Alhaja Kudirat Adeleke to the Ekerin Iyalode Of Ibadanland.

Alhaja Adeleke who hails from Foko family compound, was also a local government administrator.

The former Head of Service was elevated from the position of Abese Iyalode of Ibadanland.

Speaking on the uniqueness of Ibadan traditional title, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Balogun said, Ibadanland has reserved its customs and traditions, which according to him includes its chieftancy title line-ups.

The monarch said women are also playing very crucial role in the development of Ibadanland.

He appreciated God that there is no rancor in filling the vacancies available, as well as other ones, as laid down by the tradition and customs of Ibadan land.

Speaking after her elevation at Aliwo Palace of Olubadan, Alhaja Adeleke said, her new position was well appreciated, as it will spur her continuous service to Ibadanland and it’s development.

Alhaja Adeleke pledged her commitment to the progress of Ibadan land, especially to the advancement and progress of the womenfolk in the land.

She urged all indegenes of the ancient city to maintain peace and unity and continued to support the monarch in all they do.

The filling of the existing vacancies on the Iyalode arm of the Ibadan traditional institution by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II is a long standing tradition of Ibadanland.

In attendance at the event included members of Olubadan-in-Council, invited guests among others.
