First Lady Urges Nigerians to Pray for Peace, Prosperity as Lent, Ramadan Begin

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has called on Nigerians to use the Lenten and Ramadan seasons to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.

In her Lenten message issued on Wednesday, 18th February, 2026, the First Lady described the period as a time of spiritual growth, self-reflection and drawing closer to God, urging Christians to remain committed to the example of love demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

She noted that prayers, compassion, and acts of kindness should strengthen faith and improve relationships with others.

“As we begin this Lenten period, I pray this time of spiritual growth, self-reflection, and drawing closer to God is committed to following Christ’s example of love,” she said.

Similarly, in her Ramadan message, Senator Tinubu congratulated Muslim faithful on the commencement of the holy month, praying for peace, joy, and spiritual fulfilment for families and the nation at large.

She encouraged Muslims to remember Nigeria in prayers throughout the fasting period, asking Almighty Allah to accept their supplications, forgive sins and answer prayers.

“I felicitate with the Muslim faithful as you commence this blessed month of Ramadan. I pray this Holy month bring you and your family and the nation as a whole, peace, joy, and spiritual fulfilment,” she stated.

The First Lady concluded both messages by wishing Nigerians a blessed Lenten season and a fruitful Ramadan, while praying for unity and national progress.
