Member, House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency, Hon. Abass A. Adigun Agboworin, Vice-chairman House Committee On Airforce, has renewed the call for harmony and peace before, during and after the Easter festivity.

In a statement by his director of communication and media, Aremu Ibraheem, to mark this year’s Easter, he urged the people to imbibe the lessons of sacrifice and tolerance embedded in the festivity.

“As he celebrates the commemoration of the central event in the history of Christendom; the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us learn tolerance and sacrifice taught by Jesus’s teachings,” Hon. Abass Agboworin said.

He urged citizens of his constituency and state to tolerate each other despite their differences, and commended Gov Seyi Makinde for creating an enabling environment for peace to thrive in the State.

“The holy day marks that moment in time when good conquered evil, hope overcame despair and life triumphed over death,” the statement added.

“As we celebrate, let us remember that our lives have great purpose and value, and therefore we must never give up hope of a better Nigeria.

”As citizens of Oyo State, let us play our roles as true citizens through love and sacrifice for the general good of the society,” which was the greatest legacy that Jesus Christ left for the people, the federal lawmaker noted.

“I believe the best way we can carry on that legacy is to fulfil our obligations to our society.”

He challenged the people to show love and make sacrifices in order to maintain the harmonious and peaceful co-existence amongst them for which the Oyo people have come to be known.

The peace we enjoy and cooperation of the people has helped the government venture into terrains that today have given us hope that we could be a model of development, he stated.

The federal lawmaker congratulated and rejoiced with Christians for witnessing yet another Easter, prayed for peace and progress of his constituency, Ibadan, Oyo state and Nigeria.
